Encouraging Others

We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.  Romans 15:1 (NIV)

I’m sure if you have been a Christian for any length of time that you will have met those on the way who are older and stronger than you in the faith.  Some of them have probably been examples to you, encouraging you to grow in Christ.

Encouragement is a very powerful motivator.  It has been said

‘A pat on the back is only a few vertebrae removed from a kick in the pants, but is miles ahead in results’.  (Ella Wheeler Wilcox)

Having been encouraged by others, don’t forget to take on the role of encourager to those weaker in the faith than you.  You might never know the effect you will have on them, but you can be sure that they will learn from you and pass it on to the next generation.

The purpose of this blog is to encourage others to read the Bible on a regular basis and to discover that God's Word applies to daily life. I will generally publish posts and a Verse for the Day alternately.
