For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20 (NIV)
Have you ever noticed that two people looking at the same thing can often have very different perceptions. The verse above gives us a very clear indication that everything around us can point us to God. While one person sees the wonder of nature, another sees the creator who put it all together.
The verse mentions perceiving ‘… God’s invisible qualities … from what has been made.’ Some Bible translations include ‘… what God has made.’ However, if we consider the verse in the widest context it can mean that God can be seen in everything that has been made. Do you wonder at the complexity of engineering, yet forget who gave man the ability to think, reason and design? Do you stand in awe of the latest technology, yet forget who has given man the ability to think creatively and innovatively?
Look all around you. What do you see?
